Clever Ways to Make Your Eyes Appear Bigger and Other Feature-Enhancing Tips
Self-confidence comes shining through when you feel like you look great, and you know you worked hard on your appearance. Think about how you feel each time you try a fabulous new shade of lipstick or pencil in a great smokey eye. Makeup is a great way to enhance your features, or minimize the features you’re self-conscious about so you feel fantastic.
Fix Common Eye Problems
Do you have saggy, droopy eyes from lack of sleep or other reasons? No need to worry about them, just attack them with this simple set of tips for gorgeous eye makeup.
If your eyes are droopy, try using a powder or eyeshadow on the eyelid crease, and blend it up as you work towards the outer part of the eye. Then line your eyes, making the lines gradually thicker towards the outer part as well. Add a bit of highlighting shimmer or color to your brow bone as the finishing touch.
Make Your Eyes Appear Bigger
Individuals with smaller eyes may get frustrated, because once they do their makeup, it seems like their overall look is overpowering their eyes. You can minimize this from happening, and make your eyes appear bigger by doing any of the following:
Curl your lashes for instant pop and depth
Use a lengthening mascara
Draw your eyes to appear longer by using an eye pencil. Start from the center of the lash line and gradually get thicker on the outer corner, smudging away any stray or too harsh lines to clean-up
Wear a new color such as a bold navy or purple, as these will make your eyes appear whiter, and thus, make them seem bigger
Groom your eyebrows, because unsightly eyebrows just make your eyes look smaller
Add Fullness to Your Lips Naturally
We all want the big beautiful luscious lips we see on celebrities such as Angelina Jolie or Kylie Jenner, but some of us are just cursed with thinner lips. No worry though, because full lips are possible with the right makeup. First, exfoliate your lips because the dry skin flakes will always make your lips look smaller.
The easy way is choose a lip liner that closely matches your lipstick, and line just outside your lips edges, filling it in with the lipstick to create a fuller lip that looks natural. Don’t go crazy though, just keep your drawing realistic.
You can also use a bit of clear lip gloss in the center of your lips. The gloss will pick up the light, making your lips looks larger.
Hide Away Acne Scars
Do you have acne scars? Unfortunately, many of us do, but these scars are easily whisked away with makeup and concealer with a little patience on your part. You should always start the scar-hiding process with fresh clean skin. Exfoliate your face so the concealer will stick, and remove the flaky bits of your skin.
Apply your foundation first, using enough to cover but look natural. It’s better to apply your foundation with an egg-shaped blending sponge. For the concealer, be sure you dab on the concealer on the parts you want to hide. Use a fine-tipped brush for the best application. Don’t glob a bunch of it on the spots, but gently cover just the spots. Finally, let the concealer set by applying a coat of very fine face powder as a finisher.
Although we’re often told by our parents or the media that “you should be comfortable with the skin you’re in”, the phrase is easier said than done. I hope these tips help you enhance your appearance and feel like the beautiful, confident woman you deserve to be.
